JACARÉ

Jacaré is the new sound of Berlin’s Brazilian music scene. Founded in 2019 by Helena Fontaine, Félix Huet and Gonçalo Mortágua, the quartet of musicians already performed in the city’s most iconic venues such as Festsaal Kreuzberg, Gretchen Club, and the underground Keller of Das Hotel Bar. Their show is a blend of nostalgic samba melodies, vocal harmonies, deep tenor saxophone lines and traditional brazilian percussions.
The EP “Saindo da Lagoa” takes you on a journey along the coast of Brazil and portrays some emblematic rythms such as the Côco, the Ciranda, and above all, the Samba. The compositions are influenced by the roots of the gender, the first “sambistas” who blended poetry, rhythm, spontaneity, and the beauty of vocal harmonies in order to create timeless songs that all will remember and sing along.
